Featuring acoustic instruments as well as a variety of modified sounds, Tujiko Noriko's music sheds light in many unexpected corners. With her latest album My Ghost Comes Back (Editions Mego) out in 2014, she is returning back to Brno after eight years.
POPPY ACKROYD • UK
The classically trained composer Poppy Ackroyd not only releases music on the respected label Denovali, but also works on musical accompaniments to film, radio and theatre, not to mention her close bonds with Hidden Orchestra. Her latest album Feathers does not only enchant with its piano tunes, but also the sounds of musical instruments used as objects.
CARLOS CIPA • DE
Living and working in Munich, composer and multiinstrumentalist Carlos Cipa might ground his music in piano compositions, but that certainly isn´t where it all ends. Inspired by the elegant pieces of Debussy and the persistence of postrock pioneers Mogwai in equal measure, Cipa composes sublime and emotive music where each note matters.
